Like to get involved or even just thinking about it? We have made massive leaps forward since we moved to Peak Rail - it is now quite a few years ago since they invited us.

Most of our collection of some 27 locos are undercover, in our two sheds, which have lighting, socket outlets and are fully kitted out for our needs. We have a 3 ton forklift truck, an electric lifting platform, manual lifting platforms, a seven ton mobile crane. Mig and arc welding sets, mobile air compressors with air tools, jacks, all manner of hand tools, and most importantly of all skilled tradesmen to oversee work in hand, and we endeavour to work to an SMS(safety Management System), and also ensure that all our working members have PTS (Personal track safety training). This all comes for free, all we ask is that you come and help, in our goal to restore and maintain the best collection of Ex British Railway Shunters in the country. Working Members also have the benefit of a heated insulated messroom, with hot and cold running water, mashing facilities including tea, coffee, and if we remember fresh milk! and of course a fridge. (You are allowed to bring your own milk it's optional!) Somewhere secure to leave your overalls, boots and other workwear, and somewhere secure to store your tools if the need arises. Access to a  secure, private, flushing toilet. We can also offer handwashing facilities in our running shed, working undercover or if the weather is nice, outside, painting, needle gunning ,wire brushing ,with electric machines (after the correct induction), etc, etc We can also offer a quarterly in house magazine, and the camaraderie (I'm sure that's the wrong spelling!?), and friendship and a lot of laughs along the way in our small group at Rowsley, OH YES! all set in the beautiful Peak District National Park. Interested? please see below or click on the "Membership" tab for more details, Thanks!
